Prayers

The Overland Park Holy Face Group meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the St. Isidore room to pray and learn more about the devotion to our Lord's Holy Face.

The Anima Christi is from an unknown author of the 14th century. It was popularized by St. Ignatius Loyola in the 16th century, and remains widely used for thanksgiving after receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.

Body of Christ, save me.

Blood of Christ, inebriate me.

Water from the side of Christ, wash me.

Passion of Christ, strengthen me.

O good Jesus, hear me.

Within Thy Wounds hide me.

Suffer me not to be separated from Thee.

From the malignant enemy, defend me.

In the hour of my death, call me,

And bid me to come to Thee.

That with Thy saints, I may praise Thee.

Forever and ever.

"I desire that during these nine days you bring souls to the fountain of My mercy, that they may draw therefrom strength and refreshment and whatever grace they have need of in the hardships of life, and especially at the hour of death" (Diary, 1209).

Special intentions for souls during the Divine Mercy Novena: 

Day 1 (Good Friday) — All mankind, especially sinners

Day 2 (Holy Saturday) — The souls of priests and religious

Day 3 (Easter Sunday) — All devout and faithful souls

Day 4 (Easter Monday) — Those who do not believe in Jesus  who do not yet know Him

Day 5 (Easter Tuesday) — The souls of separated brethren

Day 6 (Easter Wednesday) — The meek and humble souls and the souls of children

Day 7 (Easter Thursday) — The souls who especially venerate and glorify Jesus’ mercy

Day 8 (Easter Friday) — The souls who are detained in purgatory

Day 9 (Easter Saturday) — The souls who have become lukewarm
