Altar Server Training at Holy Spirit

Are you interested in serving at Masses at Holy Spirit?
Would you like a refresher on how to serve?

We are excited to announce that Holy Spirit will be training another round of servers/acolytes upcoming. Baptized young men and women from the current 4th grade-8th grade and young men through High School are invited to pursue a life lived in service of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass through this ministry.

It is a wonderous privilege to serve at the altar and those who are to assist in the liturgical role of acolyte need to be models of holiness in their lives and of attentiveness during the Liturgy.


Our upcoming training dates & walkthroughs are the following:

-Wednesday, March 19th, (Feast of St. Joseph, Spring Break Week) 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Church with those servers serving the 5:30 PM Mass following.
-Thursday Afternoon April 3rd from 3:30 to 5:00 PM in the Church.
-Wednesday, April 30th from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM with those servers serving the 5:30 PM Mass following.
- Friday, May 2nd from 3:30 PM to 5:15 PM in the Church.
- Wednesday, Afternoon May 7th from 3:30 to 5:30 PM with those servers serving the 5:30 PM Mass following.
- Friday, May 9th from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM in the Church
- Thursday, May 22nd from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
- Wednesday, June 11th from 6:05 PM to 7:30 PM

If your family cannot make either of these times please indicate that and Doug Leikam will reach out to you to coordinate a good time for your son or daughter to be trained.

If your child is the only child to sign up for a certain time a parent will be required to attend so that Mr. Leikam can help with virtus child safety.

At the completion of training you will be asked to fill out an information sheet with your preferred Mass time preference and the process about scheduling will be explained.

A server video has been made and upon completion of training will be sent out to your family in case your child would like to review the server parts.
